„I really should thank him, for never coming home. I mean it. If he would have returned, I probably would have closed myself off of every other male human being. Including you.“ She takes a sip of the steaming hot coffee he made for her.
He looks at her while pouring a cup for himself. She‘s got a point there.
„I would have chased him, like a silly lovestruck puppy, hoping that he might someday return my love.“ she says and can‘t help but snort at the memory of her past self.
It‘s quiet for a few seconds.
„Am I a bad person for being glad, that he wasn‘t able to find home within konoha again?“ she asks.
Kakashi shakes his head. „No.“ he answers. „If he would have wanted to, and, if he would have been open to settling down in konoha again, he could have. I‘m sure he didn‘t want to - and I can’t blame him - so please, Sakura, don‘t make yourself feel bad about it.“ he says, taking the few steps separating them to stand between her legs.
„But, would you mind me signing this thank-you-letter you‘re planning on writing?“ he adds.
